This is a movie I saw on DD Mumbai in the early days of TV. The national TV grid hadn’t been yet established and Satellite TV with its ad nauseam 24/7/365 coverage hadn’t even been conceived.

The movie Ghar Ghar Ki Kahani has Balraj Sahni and Nirupa Roy in their time tested roles of suffering good hearted people who are put through the rigmarole of having to put up with indignities of all manner of description for no fault of theirs, really. B Nagi Reddy made this movie, directed by Prakash Rao. Rakesh Roshan was the male lead with Bharati as the heroine. (She somehow didn’t make it big in Bollywood despite acting in a few movies). I remember seeing her in Sadhu Aur Shaitan (Bhim Sain’s movie with Mehmood in his usual role), the movie also had Om Prakash with the same on-screen name, Sadhuram. The big difference is here he is a corrupt man who is the source of Balraj Sahni’s woes. https://youtu.be/-80vzCK3NEg
The musical score is by Kalyanji Anandji. They have had some brilliant songs with Kishoreda and this is certainly very high on that list. A song with just about everything right, songs, composition, and of course Kishoreda is literally on song (pun very much intended).
The song is just right for me this weekend too, being visited by my classmate who was my spouse in our performance of a Moliere play just before our SSC Board exams. Amazing to catch up with her and her doting, amazing husband. She retains the form and physique to create a traffic jam wherever she goes. Stay young, healthy, and full of good cheer, Flora. Stay healthy, safe, and happy, folks and enjoy the rest of the Sunday.
I will binge on this song…
