A Carpenter Bee buzzed around the garden, very busily. Flitting from flower to flower, it entered the corolla on every flower in the unending symbiotic search for nectar, pollinating them while satisfying it’s own thirst. Xylocopa latipes, the tropical carpenter bee, is a species of carpenter bee widely dispersed throughout India up to Southeast Asia. As its name suggests, this bee inhabits forests in warm tropical climates and constructs nests by burrowing into wood.

The flower is on a perennially flowering vine that grows on the hedge. Thunbergia grandiflora is an evergreen vine in the family Acanthaceae. It is native to China, India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Indochina and Myanmar and widely naturalised elsewhere. Common names include Bengal clockvine, Bengal trumpet, blue skyflower, blue thunbergia, blue trumpetvine, clockvine, skyflower and skyvine
