The morning was brilliant. The haze of the evening had given way to clear night skies and a chilly breeze. The sun rose late due to the winter, was first pink, then red and then turned bright yellow. The walk through the fields was invigorating and we took in Oxygen by the lungful.

The Rungia plant corns and pretty little flowers stood up against the bright Sun. Rungia is a genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Acanthaceae.

Its native range is Tropical Africa (within Angola, Benin, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo, Ethiopia, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea, Gulf of Guinea Islands, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Mali, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda and Zaïre), Southern Arabian Peninsula (within Oman and Yemen), Tropical and Subtropical Asia (within the Andaman Islands, Assam, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, East Himalaya, Hainan, India, Java, Lakshadweep Islands, Laos, Lesser Sunda Islands, Malaya, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, New Guinea, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Sulawesi, Sumatra, Taiwan, Thailand, Tibet, Vietnam and West Himalayas).

The genus name of Rungia is in honour of Friedlieb Ferdinand Runge (1794–1867), amazingly a German analytical chemist who was the first to describe it

लो आया फिर वो आफताब,आशा की नई किरणे लिए,
झोला उठाके राह पर हम भी निकले,मंज़िल पाने के लिए….
