One of the best feelings while walking through one’s garden is the joy one gets from watching flowers bloom. Filling one with joy and positive thoughts. This is the Tiger Daylily in our garden.
.
.
Hemerocallis fulva, the orange day-lily, tawny daylily, corn lily, tiger daylily, fulvous daylily, ditch lily or Fourth of July lily (also railroad daylily, roadside daylily, outhouse lily, and wash-house lily),is a species of daylily that’s native to Asia but has now reached across the globe. It is not a true lily in the genus Lilium, but gets its name from the superficial similarity of its flowers to Lilium and from the fact that each flower lasts only one day.
Both diploid and triploid forms occur in the wild, but most cultivated plants are triploids which rarely produce seeds and primarily reproduce vegetatively by stolons.
They are long lived perennials that are adaptable to varied garden conditions and vigorous growers doing well in even difficult areas where other plants do not thrive. The plants grow well in full sun to open shade, and are drought tolerant. Orange daylily is native to Asia from the Caucasus east through the Himalaya through China, Japan, and Korea.
Orange daylily persists where planted, making them a very good garden plant.
All portions of Hemerocallis species may be seriously toxic to cats and somewhat toxic to dogs. Cats are particularly vulnerable.

Beautiful photograph and description. You have given such a detailed introduction of the flower and its other members in the family, as usual. This to me, says, everything in the world has something or other to say about itself. All by their own right, are unique, special and glorious. One has to have the eyes to see and appreciate them, which you have and we, through you.

I never disliked any kind of flowers. Lilies are very hardy, we used to have them in our old house .
In the present house, I am banned from having flowering plants. My younger dog ( we call our dogs our grand dogs) goes after anything that is planted and does his own experiments with the kill 🤣🤣

That’s true. But canines can be trained to desist from such wanton destruction
