It has often intrigued (& even saddened) me that we have a lifelong desire/yearning for a heaven pursuant to which we overlook the degradation and even destruction of the haven we do have and live in.

That’s human nature, I suppose. Plenty willingly give up their lives for an uncertain tomorrow
