With the Sun rising early these days, I am frequently greeted by a golden sunrise on the way to the hospital. The nearest star to our home planet spreads cheer and exhorts us to  action, to shed inertia , move our butts and get going.
.
.
I remembered the poem by Samuel Taylor Coleridge written nearly 200 years ago.
.
Work without Hope
.
.
(Composed 21st February 1825)
.
.
All Nature seems at work. Slugs leave their lair—
The bees are stirring—birds are on the wing—
And Winter slumbering in the open air,
Wears on his smiling face a dream of Spring!
And I the while, the sole unbusy thing,
Nor honey make, nor pair, nor build, nor sing.

.
Yet well I ken the banks where amaranths blow,
Have traced the fount whence streams of nectar flow.
Bloom, O ye amaranths! bloom for whom ye may,
For me ye bloom not! Glide, rich streams, away!
With lips unbrightened, wreathless brow, I stroll:
And would you learn the spells that drowse my soul?

Sunrise and the early morning means a flurry of activity in the skies. From soundless serenity, there is a magical transformation as birds collectively soar into the skies to conquer worlds anew and look for food.
.
I am always inspired by the indomitable spirit of birds and animals, at the stoic nature in accepting and overcoming pain without much ado or complaining.
.
Why can’t we be like that and not waste time in whining about what might have been….

The recurring phases of the moon have taught me an important lesson over the last 8 decades that I’ve seen the Earth’s soulmate do it.

Despite the many disfiguring injuries and flaws in its beauty, Selene only shares its radiant glow with the world.

Isn’t that exactly the opposite of what Humans tend to do: talk incessantly and show what ails them without even mentioning what they can give the world.

I can stay busy for hours in the garden. There is so much to learn from the tireless, single minded industriousness of other beings. Ants, insects, and birds always have so much to do. Humans could profit so much by studying and following their perseverance.

This is a male black stream glider (Trithemis festiva), also known as the indigo dropwing, and is a species of dragonfly in the family Libellulidae.
.
.
It is geographically an extremely widespread species, occurring from Greece, Cyprus and Turkey, throughout Asia all the way to New Guinea.
.
Such fragile diaphanous wings , such amazing strength and endurance to be able to hover over buds and flowers.

The dawn broke with molten pink gold suffusing the skies over the mountains. The gusts of cool breeze sent a shiver up my spine. The warblers got into the act, chirping paeans of praise to the recurring cycle of faith.
.
I thanked God for allowing me to be alive and well to be witness to the magical moment, my body and soul rejuvenated by His energy.

What I love about flowers and the reason I find them so satisfying and calming is the fact that they show equanimity towards every human. They will bring the same guileless pure beauty, the fragrance and joy to everyone.
.
.
Of course if one nurtures the plants, this joy will be multiplied manifold.
.
Tabernaemontana divaricata, commonly called pinwheel flower, crape jasmine, East India rosebay, and Nero’s crown, is an evergreen shrub or small tree native to South Asia, Southeast Asia and China. We call it तगर in marathi.
.
.
The plant generally grows to 1.5 metres in height. The waxy blossoms are found in small clusters on the stem tips. The (single) flowers have the characteristic ‘pinwheel’ shape and the same shape is also seen in other genera in the family Apocynaceae such as Vinca and Nerium.
.
Both single and double-flowered forms are cultivated, the flowers of both forms being white. The plant blooms in spring but flowers appear sporadically all year. The flowers have a very mild pleasing fragrance.
.

In zones where it is not hardy it is grown as a house/glasshouse plant for its attractive flowers and foliage. The stem exudes a milky latex when broken, whence the name milk flower.
